UWEC at MN Wild Game

UW-Eau Claire Shuffle 5K run/walk

2025 Shuffle 5k run/walk is hosted and sponsored by UW-Eau Claire Recreation and Sport Operations and takes place on Saturday, March 8, 2025; 9 a.m. packet pick up; 9:50 a.m. race announcements.

10 a.m. RACE STARTS at UWEC McPhee Physical Education Center, Parking in the CVTC South Lota great way to kick off your 5k season! The route starts on UW-Eau Claire’s upper campus, goes down the infamous Garfield Avenue hill, over the scenic university footbridge and follows the river up the beautiful Chippewa Valley River trail. The race is a loop that begins and ends at the McPhee Physical Education Center. This event is open to any fitness level. Cost: $20/person, $25/person on a team. Online registration can be found at raceentry.com  Pre-registration ends at 11:59pm on March 6.

Feeling competitive? We have a race clock at the finish line, so you can time and track your personal progress. Interested in enjoying a scenic run or walk with friends? Enjoy the views at a comfortable pace. Strollers are welcome if you want to make this a fun event for the entire family!

UW-Eau Claire Wisconsin Day at the Sun Bowl, AZ

Join fellow Blugolds alumni and friends of the Badger state for a Wisconsin picnic in Arizona on Thursday, March 13. This event is open to all Wisconsinites and sponsored by the Wisconsin Club of Sun City. There is a $10 charge payable at the event that includes Wisconsin themed food, beverages, prizes and live music. Wear your BLUE and GOLD to show your Blugold Pride. Be sure to bring a lawn chair to sit a visit awhile. Let us know in advance if you are going to attend, and we'll put your in name in for a door prize. More details on the Sun City website. UW-Eau Claire - Desert Belle Boat Cruise

SAVE THE DATE!
Join fellow Blugold alumni and friends for an unforgettable 80-minute nature cruise on the beautiful Saguaro Lake Desert Belle, located at 14011 N. Bush Hwy, Mesa, AZ. 

This narrated cruise, led by a Coast Guard-certified captain, will explore the history, geology, geography, and wildlife of the stunning Sonoran Desert.

Details:

• Recommended check-in time begins one hour prior to cruise time. Boarding begins 30 minutes prior to departure time.
• All children under 13 must wear a life jacket (life jackets provided by the Desert Belle)
• No pets allowed on board
• No smoking allowed on board (includes e-cigarettes)
• Two bathrooms on board
• The boat is handicap accessible

When: Saturday, March 15, 2 p.m.

Cost $27 (Adults); $17 (Children 13 and under) includes the cruise ticket, 2 drink tickets, and a chance for Blugold swag

UWEC 50th Anniversary-Viennese Ball 

Join us in celebrating our 50th year and Golden Anniversary! The Viennese Ball is inspired by the historic Kaiser Ball housed in Vienna at the Hofburg Congress Center, the former Imperial Palace and seat of the Austrian emperors. A multi-roomed New Year’s Eve extravaganza in the style of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elizabeth’s “Ball at Court,” the Kaiser Ball features thousands of flowers, wonderful food, and a wide variety of musical events including Salonmusik, Volkmusik, and, of course, orchestras playing Viennese waltzes. The Viennese Ball tickets on sale now.

Eau Claire Jazz Crawl

Eau Claire Jazz Crawl as you may remember previously called The Eau Claire Jazz Festival 52nd Street is the transformation of downtown Eau Claire into a New York jazz scene. Here, you can explore over 40 exceptional music groups at 17 different venues (all-ages and 21+).  This year, our groups will be featuring a variety of music styles including ragtime, blues, acoustic, and big band. Join over 3,000 people and enjoy this once a year celebration! Eau Claire Jazz events Sponsored by Royal Credit Union.

Join in the evening of music on Friday, April 11 on Barstow St. Eau Claire. Explore over 25 indoor/outdoor venues for just a $20 wristband. ($25 week of) Children 10 and under are FREE. Proceeds support our Eau Claire Jazz Festival educational programs.

SAVE THE DATE! Join us at UW-Eau Claire Haas Fine Arts Center - Gantner Concert Hall, Eau Claire. Register to Join the Alumni Band! Join us April 24-27, 2025, for our Alumni Band weekend as we celebrate the University Bands! The weekend will feature performances by the musicians of the Symphony Band and Wind Symphony including concerto competition winners, student conductors, along with rehearsals and performance of the UWEC Alumni Band. There will be time to connect with friends, colleagues, and UWEC faculty (past and present). Dr. Ostrander and Dr. Stewart will lead rehearsals of the Alumni Band on Saturday and Sunday to prepare for the Sunday afternoon concert.
